Examine what ideas I
have that I feel are necessary to the success of the program and compare

Schools
(Harris, Edmonson, and
Combs, 2010)
Your action plan is really quite thorough! I look forward to watching as you gather the information. I like using attendance to measure whether the students want to attend. I am at an intermediate school and also researching tutorials- since our kids must ride a bus home, they are simply put on a later bus. Attendance is not really optional. I would really like to learn more about grant writing and look forward to your posts about that process as well. Good luck with your plan!
ReplyDeleteI do not really see any areas that need to be changed. The only thing you might want to consider is pulling your final data a little sooner than May 2013, just because I am assuming you are in my graduating class which should be in May 2013.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Coach Adkins. You will probably not have STAAR data by May 2013 and would likely need it prior to then to complete what we need for our Masters. Although, we really don't know when we will have to actually "complete" this for our Masters. You can also check with your field supervisor to check their advice on timeline. I would recommend looking more at benchmark data which you have more control over. You might also consider having the students take a short pretest upon entering the after school program and then a post test near the end of next school year for comparative data. You could also do one mid-inquiry. This would give you a baseline, allow you to look for growth, adjust program in necessary, and then collect final data. Overall looks like a worthy endeavor and links closely to what I am researching. I will be following closely to see how it goes!
ReplyDeleteYour action plan looks good. I agree that you will need the STAAR data prior to finishing the program. I look forward to reading your post!
